Healthcare Settings

Certified therapeutic musicians work in a variety of healthcare settings. They are primarily found at the bedside of patients in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, treatment centers, nursing homes, hospice and palliative care facilities. Hospital work often includes pre-op and post-op care, ER, ICU, NICU, psychiatric, dialysis and cancer treatment units. Clinical musicians also work in massage, yoga, meditation and physical therapy centers, educational institutions, chiropractic offices, dental offices and veterinary clinics.

In-home Care

Therapeutic musicians have portable equipment and are available to provide in-home care for your convenience. Individuals with chronic illnesses such as heart failure, COPD, stroke, dementia, cancer, neurological disorder, hospice patients or those recovering from surgery who require ongoing medical care and have limited mobility, all benefit from the use of sound to reduce stress, triggering the relaxation response to potentially remove blockages for healing, allowing medical care and medications to be more effective.

Telehealth Sessions

Telehealth sessions are a convenient and effective way to minister to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of a client/patient. As with live sessions, the therapeutic musician customizes and adapts the music as it is played based on the real time experience of the recipient by changing rhythmic, harmonic and melodic complexities, as well as dynamics to support their immediate needs bringing them to a place of healing and comfort.
